View source for Omni-Directional Template

The ''Shoot 'em Up Kit'' includes a range of [[Create from a Template|game templates]] to use as a starting point for different styles of game.  The controls, [[Add a Camera|camera]] and [[Add a Player|player]] ship are already in place to make it easier to get started on a game.

The ''Omni-Directional'' template is a 2D game with models.  [[Building the Omni-Directional Template|See how we built this template here]].


The player can rotate, move forward and backwards and fire in the direction they are facing.


Two [[Add an NPC Generator|NPC Generator]] spawn points have been added to the left of the player's starting location.  These are player relative so the NPCs will always spawn to the left of the player wherever it has moved to.


The background is a generated starfield that moves based on the player's velocity and new stars are spawned in the direction the player is travelling in.
